Candidate Pledge

Running for office in 2026? Take the RAD pledge and show voters you're committed to reform.

PLEDGE TO REBUILD AMERICA'S DEMOCRACY

As a candidate for public office, I pledge to support and advance legislation and constitutional reforms that restore political power to the American people. I commit to the following principles:

I. End Big Money Influence

  • Support overturning Citizens United and related decisions that allow unlimited corporate and outside spending.
  • Require full transparency of all political donations and independent expenditures.
  • Ban stock trading by members of Congress.
  • Strengthen anti-corruption and anti-bribery laws.
  • Close the revolving door by imposing a five-year lobbying ban for former members of Congress and senior officials.

II. Protect Fair Elections

  • Enact term limits for members of Congress and establish 18-year terms for Supreme Court justices.
  • End partisan gerrymandering through independent or neutral map-drawing standards.
  • Establish national baselines for election access and security, including early voting, automatic voter registration, paper ballots, and risk-limiting audits.
  • Restore and modernize Voting Rights Act protections.

III. Limit Unchecked Executive Power

  • Impose a 60-day automatic sunset on presidential emergency declarations unless Congress explicitly approves an extension.
  • Require the president to personally sign major actions (vetoes, pardons, executive orders, emergency declarations).
  • Restrict the use of the autopen to routine documents and require public logging of its use.
  • Strengthen oversight and transparency for executive orders and emergency powers.

IV. Fix the Pardon System

  • Prohibit self-pardons and pardons intended to obstruct justice.
  • Require DOJ review and public written justification for all federal pardons and commutations.
  • Impose a 30-day waiting period for end-of-term pardons.

V. Protect Public Office From Corruption

  • Bar individuals convicted of serious federal crimes—including corruption, fraud, espionage, and obstruction—from holding federal office unless rights are restored through a transparent legal process.

VI. Restore Judicial Integrity

  • Enforce a binding ethics code for Supreme Court justices and all federal judges.
  • Require public disclosure of gifts, financial ties, and potential conflicts of interest.
  • Establish transparent, standardized recusal procedures.

VII. Increase Transparency & Accountability

  • Strengthen FOIA and public-records laws.
  • Require public visitor logs for the White House and congressional leadership offices.
  • Publish federal procurement, grant, and spending data in open formats.
  • Release final legal opinions that interpret executive authority.
  • Strengthen protections for whistleblowers in federal agencies and federal contracting.

VIII. Protect American Land & National Sovereignty

  • Limit foreign land ownership to individuals and entities from countries where Americans can also own land.
  • Prohibit foreign governments and state-owned enterprises from acquiring U.S. agricultural, residential, or commercial land except for diplomatic uses.
  • Require transparency of beneficial ownership for all foreign-linked land purchases.
  • Establish protections against foreign ownership near military bases, critical infrastructure, and strategic agricultural resources.

IX. Strengthen Civic Health

  • Support investment in civics education, election staff training, secure election systems, and independent public media.

Commitment

By signing this pledge, I affirm that I will support legislation, constitutional amendments, and institutional reforms necessary to rebuild America's democracy, protect individual freedoms, limit corporate and big-money influence, and ensure that government derives its authority solely from the people.

Note: By taking this pledge, you're making a public commitment to fight for these reforms if elected. Your pledge will be verified and, upon approval, listed on our site for voters to find.
